As for getting himself killed........we have all seen this act out with JFK over the demand by Israel to make a nuclear bomb in the 1960's and JFK's efforts to counter those demands. Well, those days are past, everyone seems to have a bomb these days but there is that danger, certainly.
A dual US / Israeli passported IDF member of which there are so many on active service in Israel (masquerading as rapists, murderers, child killers, with sniping as a speciality, children mainly) could take on that task being welcome in both countries and able to hide anywhere after the event.
