I think his politics moved away from the Pinochet-support, over time. Sadly, there's plenty of Chileans and Americans who STILL support Pinochet, to this day.

He was to the right politically and on economic issues, but I still respected his reporting on Ukraine (, and even some of his global economic analysis, I came to find, over time, by listening to him).

It's always good to get confirmation from an additional source, on any facts that are disputed. Since I don't follow the internal political debate and news in Kiev - I always appreciated when he brought the receipts on that stuff.

I see... So you've got 'inside baseball' reporters on Ukrainian politics, aside from Lira? Are they reporting from inside Ukraine? Please tell us who that would be. Now that Lira is gone, I'd love to know who does that.
