I think his politics moved away from the Pinochet-support, over time. Sadly, there's plenty of Chileans and Americans who STILL support Pinochet, to this day.

He was to the right politically and on economic issues, but I still respected his reporting on Ukraine (, and even some of his global economic analysis, I came to find, over time, by listening to him).

It's always good to get confirmation from an additional source, on any facts that are disputed. Since I don't follow the internal political debate and news in Kiev - I always appreciated when he brought the receipts on that stuff.

So you followed the bills in the Ukrainian legislature, as it became increasingly fascistic? And you followed the rising and falling stars of Ukrainian politics? Interesting.

Do you read Ukrainian Newspapers?

Bullshit. The charges against Assange were made up and exposed for what they were a long time ago. The Swedish government railroaded the women who making the accusations.

I don't think anyone denies that Assange got laid by those two Swedish women. Just that what occurred wasn't non-consensual. They MAY HAVE BEEN part ofba sophisticated "Honey Pot Operation" - or perhaps they were just used to retroactively manufacture one.

it all was about bareback, no?

That was the allegation in at least one instance - though I think it was specifically that he took a condom off, by stealth or something.

They were not "sluts" FFS. Neither wanted him charged, and one made huge efforts to try to prevent the legal onslaught. If they are "sluts", then so is Julian.

In actual fact, they were activists who found him intelligent and attractive, and took him to bed. We need MORE of these "sluts", if that's the word you want to use about strong women who control their own sex lives.

If he was less of an idiot he'd have stopped when the condom split, as she asked. I sure as fuck would - wouldn't you?

They'd have got him some other way anyway, just 'made it up' if nothing else arose.

You get to share the first place with Susan T for not recognizing sarcasm.

Having said that, it can be argued they are indeed sluts, since "neither wanted him charged" yet they went along. They sold him out. They were paid with something. They were de facto prostitutes.

You are misinformed. They did not "go along". The State - unusually, hmmm - decided to prosecute WITHOUT the supposed victim's agreement.

They were not "prostitutes", and I hope you are a virgin until you get married with that opinion of women.

The state learned about everything how?

One of the victims - and yes, a genuine victim - merely wanted Julian to have an STD test, after all they'd had unexpectedly unprotected sex. That's not a HUGE ask, tbh, especially as Julian was clearly roaming around the World having sex with wonderful activists who found him enticing.

To get the injunction she had to explain the condom split during intercourse.

The US State Dept picked up on this through their observation of their vassals, and in Sweden that counts as rape - albeit a mild form, and normally the victim would have to be the one to push the prosecution.

This she absolutely refused to do.

The original State prosecutor accepted her decision, and the case was closed. And then the US State Det got involved. A political prosecuter re-opened the case, and the rest is history.

All she wanted was for Julian to have an STD test, which frankly was entirely her right, after he selfishly continued once the durex split.
