Navalny was a two-bit thug who robbed with his criminal brother. The US tried to make him the "competition" of Putin, i.e., talked about him as if he were a freedom-democracy seeking guy who could unseat Putin, the most honest leader in the world today. God, how can people fall for this crap? Navalny's ads against Muslims were horribly sickening, he hated them so much. Unseat Putin...not in a million years. Putin didn't have him killed...he wasn't worth the trouble. Besides, Putin doesn't poison anyone, but he US public falls for that crap all the time. Idiots.
Thanks again, Caitlin. Don't know what we'd do without you.
Wait until you see Masha Gessen's fawning-over-Navalny latest article in the New Yorker. She makes him out as real competition to Putin, ignoring his corruption entirely, praising him as if we've lost another Mandela or King when, if fact, he was the most racist person I've ever heard when speaking of his hate for Muslims and how they should all be exterminated. She says outright, with NO evidence that Putin poisoned Navalny's underwear on an airplane and now murdered him. She writes as if he's a saint we've lost. My god, the New Yorker has lost all respect simply by hiring this woman as a staff writer and letting her get away with outrageous lies..
I don't read MSM and characters like Masha Gessen wouldn't write anything worthy. They're on the intelligence services payroll, directly or indirectly, and if one had a chance to discuss issues with them where they'd be free to - and they aren't - they'd admit they're liars. Provided, of course, that they're also decent human beings, which is a big question mark.
What's bad is she writes for the New Yorker which used to be known for its fact-checking. Since 9-!!, Russiagate, and Trump, they don't care anymore and have jumped on the bandwagon of US government approval propaganda.
Agree. Such behavior (and journalism if you can even call it that) is despicable. Such propaganda and lying has always been the modus operandi of the MSM landscape. At this point, not much surprises me about the "news & analysis" emanating from the "corporate/government-media industry".
If he was murdered, it was probably by the West. The Kremlin receives no benefit from turning a prisoner, into a potential martyr. But the West certainly does. He was a CIA asset. But in a prison camp, he was of little use to them. Dead, he's far more valuable.
The thing is by now his "murdered" value is worth nothing. The west's media frenzy has absolutely no reaction in Russia. The west can have nothing more than it already has to justify its pressure. Maybe it's looking for more of its own public support.
Certainly that's what the West is doing, currently. But whatever supporters Navalny had within Russia, could also be used to try and gin-up another weak "color revolution" attempt - just like they tried to do, back when he was sent back to jail, for violating his parole. That was an annoyance at most, within the Kremlin - but it was magnified and amplified here in the Western Media.
Look at the nightmare they created in Iran, over the ODD death of that cancer patient, who didn't wear her scarf correctly. The facts are irrelevant. In that case, she just collapsed in a police station - untouched. But everyone was TOLD that she was beaten and tortured to death - like she was Gonzalo Lira. The CIA has their people and information networks set-up and ready to amplify the lies, internally AND internationally. And pretty soon you have a series of externally-orchestrated events occurring within the targeted country.
I wouldn't immediately dismiss the possibility that this might be attempted in Russia. I doubt it will have much success... But there's plenty of Black OPS and USAID/NED money to throw at things like this, too.
For sure. My point is just that Astroturf is fairly easy to generate - and they're going to use the material that they have, to the best of their ability.

A few commenters here still seem to suggest he was indeed "murdered". If he was to be "murdered" he'd be done with long ago.
Timing is everything when it comes to propaganda (and murder):
1) Putin interview
2) Russian victory in Ukraine (another Tet Offensive event)
3) Congress' pending vote on billions more military aid (Biden even included it in his statement!)
4) Assange

They might try and I think I saw somewhere warnings from authorities in Moscow(?) for folks not to come out for any unauthorized demos.
Even if someone decides to show up, in the current situation with Ukraine etc, it'll be dealt with rather forcefully and without ceremony.

Terrorists target women and children. By the time u deal with them, ur entire family is dead. See ukraine and bolshevist revokution and gaza
Especially when the prisoner might provide useful information...
I am not sure if the US falls for that crap or if they plant it so that they can use it to make themselves look more like a "democracy"
