they can (and, imo probably do) pay people to estimate the impact on their wealth and figure out escape routes. the fact that they in no way feel any sense of urgency, tells me their scientists told them they needn't worry. they're safe. climate change is only a kind of threat to the rich who still need large, poor populations to exploit.
