The resistance to apartheid and sanctions was driven by ordinary individuals, not the state. It's why they jumped straight to making it illegal for local authorities to boycott repression. At the end of the day, skin colour is skin deep and anyone that takes it to mean anything serious is a fuckwit imo. The skin colour thing is just part of the divide and rule tactic, which is why they had signs in the sixties saying "No blacks, dogs or Irish". The Irish are some of the palest people on the planet. Before that it was "Wogs start at Calais". What colour were the kids forced up chimneys in the 1800s? Under the soot, that is. White. It's not about whiteness so much as power and money.
